General Session Keynote Address: Pride, Professionalism and Passion

Fire fighters, Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians represent the most respected profession in America. Yet the fire and EMS services still endure budget cuts and curtailment of services amid fire and safety problems greater than most Western countries. Ben May will address the constant need of the fire service to engage in the discipline of marketing management so the public better understands what we do.  An educated citizen brings  financial,  popular support and increased safety for all.  Ben will discuss how marketing is so important for the fire and EMS services; and how your department can use it effectively.

Ben May has over twenty years of experience creating and applying the discipline of Fire Service Marketing Management in tough, competitive environments. He brings a passion for the fire service coupled with a systematic approach to developing effective marketing plans for fire and emergency service organizations. Ben is presently responsible for Business Development of Walt Disney Parks US. As part of that responsibility, Epcot® and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company recently open the largest interactive fire safety education experience in the United States, called “Where’s the Fire?”
